Information for Decision on Research Funding Applications

    Before you get started

    The University needs to collect information about applications for external funding so that it can follow up on research activities, provide good support and assistance to researchers, and facilitate the planning of work duties. This applies to applications where participants from the University are either the main applicant or the co-applicant.

    When a researcher from the University is the main applicant, an internal decision on the submission of a research application to the funding body must be made before the application is submitted.

    The Head of School or the Vice-Chancellor makes this decision after it has been presented at the Advisory Council to the Vice-Chancellor (RL) or at the Advisory Council to the School (institutionsledningsråd - IL). As the main applicant and researcher, you support your application by completing the information in this form and submitting it for a decision (Steps 1-2 below). In the form, you must also upload the application's internal financial calculation. Please also attach other parts of the application if they are ready. The information/documents you submit with this form are registered automatically in the diariet. The other parts of the application you yourself must register at a later date.

    The deadline for submitting the form is normally 7 days before the next meeting of the Advisory Council to the Vice-Chancellor (RL) or the Advisory Council to the School (IL). See uppcoming meeting dates in mötes- och beslutshanteringsverktyget BeHDa .

    At this time, you must complete the form in one sitting (that is to say, you cannot save sections and return to the form later on to work with it). To prepare, do the following before you begin filling out the form:

    1. Print out a copy of the form in advance so that you can prepare your answers at our own pace: Supporting documents for the decision (in PDF format) Beslutsunderlag (i pdf-format) 
    2. Prepare the supporting documents to be included with your application:
      - internal financial calculation
      You prepare this with the Financial Officer for your University School. More information can be found on the Research Support webpage  Financial Aspects and Audits - Research Project on the staff website.
      - The other parts of the application (for example, project desciption, CV, certificates and letters of support) can be attached if they are ready. You need to register any documention that you do not attach here at a later date.

        • The documents that you do not submit here must be registered in the diariet at a later date: send them to the Senior Administrator for your School or to registrator@du.se.
        • If you make changes to the application after an internal decision on submission, you must register the final version as soon as possible. If changes are made to the budget or the internal financial calculation, they must first be approved by the Head of School.

        The Vice-Chancellor or Head of School decides on the submission of the application to the funding body after its presentation at the Vice-Chancellor's Management Council (RL) or the Advisory Council to the School (IL).

        The Vice-Chancellor decides on the submission when:
        - Dalarna University/the Vice-Chancellor is the main applicant (organisation application)
        - the application requires co-funding from the University of an amount that exceeds the decision-making power of the Head of School according to the delegation of authority (delegationsordning)

        The Head of School presents the application at the Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Council (RL). If necessary, the project manager assists the Head of School with the presentation.

        The Head of School decides on the application when:
        - co-funding is required from the University of an amount that does not exceed the decision-making power of the Head of School according to the delegation of authority (delegationsordning)

        The Deputy Head of School (Proprefekt) presents the application at the respective Advisory Council to the School (IL). If necessary, the project manager assists the Deputy Head of School with the presentation.

      • The Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Council (RL) takes place on Mondays every second week (udda veckor) 13.00-16.00.

        Project managers will be contacted by the secretary about the booking of a decision meeting.

      • What happens after you complete and submit the form?

        After you have completed the form, uploaded attachments, and submitted everything, this is what happens next:

        • A pdf file of the submitted form is automatically downloaded to your computer (Your copy).
        • The decision documentation, including attached documents, is registered automatically, and a reference number is emailed to you in return.
          Everything also goes to decisionmakers, those presenting the application, and the Senior Administrator of your respective University School by way of BeHDa.
        • You will be contacted by the Vice-Chancellor's Secretary or the Senior Administrator of your University School to book a time for a meeting at the Vice-Chancellor's Management Council (RL) or at the Advisory Council to the School (IL).
